Synthetic Equilibrium

This large mobile consists of a 25lb tangled ball of netting collected off the coast of Japan, a 20lb mass of plastic bags from a camel skeleton collected in Dubai, and 200 cigarette lighters extracted from albatross skeletons on Midway Atoll.

The concept here is that the entire biosphere is adapting to an influx of synthetic chemistry,   resetting the ecological balance.  All life reacts to this new material, shifting population ranges and sizes, ingesting and becoming entangled, and experiencing ecotoxicological effects.  A new equilibrium is in motion.
